South African Coalition on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (SACMHM) Symposium Report



The Department of Women, and Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) of South Africa partnered with development partners such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), WaterAid and Non-governmental organisations namely Footprints Foundation, Langalethu Youth Foundation and Days for Girls to support the Department of Social Development and communities by providing access to menstrual and hygiene products as well as information, education and communication. The online symposium was held to take stock of important developments and initiatives and also identify some actions that can improve Menstrual Health and hygiene management in South Africa. The symposium aimed to ignite members into action and intended to consolidate programmes and approaches to Menstrual Health (MH) in South Africa.
