‘Lions cricket aims to create an unrivalled passion for cricket. Our mission is to advance and transform cricket by ensuring quality winning teams, nurturing club and school cricket and offering a world-class stadium experience. In addition, we want to use cricket as a vehicle to drive inclusive and sustainable economic, social and environmentally friendly change’.
DP World Lions and the Cuplings Foundation are launching a new Period Freedom Sports Initiative. An initiative that aims to provide young female cricket players with Menstrual health educational workshops, as well as healthy, eco-friendly, sustainable Menstrual cup kits that will last each player up to 10 years. Putting an end to Period Poverty within development cricket.
The Period Freedom Sports Initiative is aimed at eradicating period poverty within our local communities. The initiative specifically focuses on helping young female cricketers in and around Gauteng learn more about Menstrual Health, as well as ensuring that girls do not have to miss school or training, due to lack of access to Menstrual health products.
The Menstrual cup kit provided is the first Menstrual Cup Kit in the world with all three Menstrual cup sizes, a portable sterilizer pot and a breathable cotton carry pouch for storage. The Menstrual cups are made from 100% recyclable medical grade silicone, contain zero toxins, and last up to 10 years.
